AS Roma has sign Hector Moreno from PSV

Roma have made their first off-season signing with the capture of Hector Moreno on a four-year contract from Dutch giants PSV.

The Mexico international spent two seasons at the Philips Stadion, where he helped Phillip Cocu's side win the Eredivisie title in 2015/16.

Moreno now embarks on a new adventure in Italy, having previously plied his trade in Spain and the Netherlands after leaving UNAM in his homeland almost a decade ago.

The 29-year-old centre-back was brought in to provide competition for Juan Jesus, Federico Fazio and Kostas Manolas, as the Eternal City outfit attempt to break Juventus' stranglehold on Serie A.

"I am very happy to sign for Roma. This represents an important step up in my career," he told the club's official website.

"I hope I can show my individual qualities and contribute to the overall success of the team."

Giallorossi sporting director Monchi added: "Moreno has been a target of mine for a long time, and fortunately now the circumstances are right for him to join us at Roma.

"This is a central defender with a lot of international experience, and he perfectly fit the profile we were looking for."
