A report stated that, Kiessling confirmed he held constructive talks with new coach Heiko Herrlich and feels encouraged and supported to ply his trade for another year with Leverkusen.
The player was used little by previous boss Roger Schmidt although he did enjoy a late surge at the end of the campaign when he scored three goals in four games.
As such, he feels he has something to offer especially with Herrlich offering his full support. Kiessling told Kicker, "I've spoken with the new coach and it was a very good chat.
"He's one of those people who doesn't only understand football - he lives it, too. Because of that, I think we'll be be able to support each other. I'll go into my last year and begin my farewell."
