Mozambicans cry out over $3.8m luxury vehicles for their lawmakers

Mozambicans are angry after the leadership of the country’s legislature purchased 18 luxury vehicles for an estimated $3.8m.

The news that went viral on social media is believed to be against the background that the southern African country is heading to economic recession.

The purchases are largely seen as insensitive on the part of the Mozambique lawmaker.

The opposition critics said the public vicious attacked was justified but insisted that the country lawmakers needed official vehicles in the discharge of their duties.

Also blamed the government for going in for expensive vehicles after the request of the lawmakers.

Official report says, the vehicles were assigned to members of the Standing Commission – the legislature’s governing board.
