I feel great am back again - Gotze

The 25-year-old, who last featured for BVB in February when he was sidelined with a 'metabolic disturbance', came on as a 62nd-minute replacement for Nuri Sahin during Saturday's 3-2 pre-season friendly win over the Reds.

Gotze has expressed his relief at finally returning to action, although he admitted to being tired after such a long period with football.

"It was a great feeling but exhausting especially after five months out, but nevertheless I'm very optimistic," the Germany international told reporters.

"I've been (back) in training for a week now so that with travelling was very hard for me but altogether it just feels great for me to play and be back again."

Peter Bosz's squad are in Japan to prepare for the new season and will next take on Italian giants Milan in China on July 18, before heading back to Germany.
